HUNTINGTON -- Jarod Stouffer, a player for the Point Pleasant High School football team, died Wednesday after being diagnosed with leukemia, a Point Pleasant Register newspaper story said.

Stouffer, a senior, died at Children's Hospital in Columbus.

He played linebacker and tailback and was a defensive captain. He also played baseball at Point Pleasant and was on the track and field team.

At the family's request, today's home game against Meigs will go on as scheduled, Point Pleasant principal Roger Keefer said in the report by the Register.
